Mary
Wallace, M.A. CCC-SLP, BRS-Fluency Disorders
Mary
Wallace received her B.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from
the State University of New York at Plattsburg in 1979 and
received her Masters degree from the University of Colorado
at Boulder in 1983. Since that time she has specialized
exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of stuttering
in children and adults.
Mary was a part-time
faculty member at the University of Colorado from 1985 to
1992. She provided clinical supervision of Masters level
graduate students and organized and implemented a state-wide
speech-language-hearing screening program. In addition,
Mary served as a speech-language pathologist for Peter Ramig
& Associates, specializing in fluency disorders, from
1984 until 1992. At that time Mary and long-time colleague
Patty Walton opened the Center for Stuttering Therapy in
Boulder and Denver. Mary currently works out of the Boulder
office providing specialized therapy services for both children
and adults.
Mary is co-author
of the preschool treatment book "Fun With Fluency"
and has published several articles concerning stuttering
in national and international journals. She has presented
extensively both on a state and national level in the area
of stuttering disorders. Mary provides consultation services,
training workshops for parents, speech pathologists and
educators, and intensive therapy for children across the
United States.
Mary is certified
by the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association, is
a Board Recognized Fluency Specialist, and is on the referral
list of the Stuttering Foundation of America.
Mary lives in
Boulder with her husband and two sons, both of whom stuttered
when they were younger. She enjoys skiing, biking, rollerblading
and watching her son's many sporting events.
Patty
Walton, M.A. CCC-SLP, BRS-Fluency Disorders
Patty
Walton received her B.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from
the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1983, and
received her M.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder
in 1985. Since that time she has specialized exclusively
in the diagnosis and treatment of stuttering in children
and adults. Patty was the Director of the Stuttering Program
at the Center for Hearing, Speech, & Language in Denver
from 1985-1987.
Upon
leaving the Center, Patty served as a speech-language pathologist
for Peter Ramig & Associates until 1992. At that time
Patty and long-time colleague Mary Wallace opened the Center
for Stuttering Therapy in Denver and Boulder. Patty currently
works out of the Denver office providing specialized therapy
services for both children and adults.
Patty
currently teaches at the undergraduate fluency disorders
class at Metropolitan State College, an on-line, distance
learning, graduate class in fluency disorders and the graduate
class in stuttering at the University of Northern Colorado
in Greeley. Patty is co-author of the preschool treatment
book " Fun With Fluency" and is currently working
on a book for school-age children due out in June 2004.
Patty has presented extensively both on a state and national
level in the area of stuttering disorders. She provides
consultation services and intensive therapy for children
who live out of state.
Patty
is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association,
is a Board Recognized Fluency Specialist, and is on the
referral list of the Stuttering Foundation of America. She
is very active in the national support group Friends, The
Association of Young People Who Stutter.
Anne Treloar,
M.A., CCC-SLP
Anne Treloar received her B.A. and Master's Degrees in
Communication Disorders and Speech Science from the University
of Colorado-Boulder. She has worked for ten years as a speech-language
pathologist, concurrently, in both private practice and
public school settings. She currently practices at the Center
for Stuttering Therapy in Denver treating children and adults
who stutter and in the public school system in Berthoud/Loveland
providing interventions for fluency, articulation, and language
learning disabilities at the elementary through high school
levels.
Anne is a fluency specialist in the Thompson R2-J School
District providing support and fluency consultation services
to the 25 elementary through high school speech-language
pathologists in that district. She attended the Stuttering
Foundation of America 2002 Western Workshop in Seattle,
Washington, and has presented on the topic of stuttering
at the district, regional, and state level.
Anne is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association and is listed on the Stuttering Foundation of
America referral list.
Sara M
Baumgartner M.A. CCC-SLP
Sara
has been working for the Center for Stuttering since the
year 2000. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from
the University of Northern Colorado and her Master of Arts
degree from Wichita State University. Sara trained in fluency
disorders under Lisa Scott Trautman, a nationally recognized
authority in stuttering. Her professional interests involve
fluency disorders of adults and children. She is a member
of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
During her free time, Sara likes to travel, ski and mountain
bike.
